Risk Taker Crew Profile
Captain
Captain: Eric Crownover
Captain Eric hails from New Mexico but he was raised around boats from an early age and when he turned 17, he decided to join the Navy. It was then he realized that the ocean would be a major part of his life. After the Navy, Eric became a diving instructor in St John, United States Virgin Islands for a couple of years. Still wanting more, he got a job on a cruise ship as a deckhand. This is where he was introduced to the world of private yachts. After completing a 2nd Caribbean season, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL to begin his career working on private yachts. Captain Eric brings with him a vast knowledge of yachting and is a big asset heading up the stellar crew aboard M/Y RISK TAKER and will be very instrumental in our charter program and making sure each charter client and guests will thoroughly enjoy their time aboard.
Deck/Stew: Megan Johns
Our Deck/Stew Megan is 26 years old and originally from the State of Ohio. At the age of 14 she moved with her family to Rhode Island, where she developed a newfound love for the Ocean.
Megan began her hospitality career on land, working behind the bar practicing Mixology, as well as waitressing in various restaurants. Her charismatic and inquisitive nature allowed her to thrive in these roles, however, she still longed for an adventure, particularly one that involved the sea. When she was introduced to the idea of working on yachts in 2023, she didn’t hesitate to jumping right into the deep end. She moved to Florida and started a new chapter of her career as a Deckhand/Stewardess. She has since joined RISK TAKER and has become a valuable member of our crew, providing both exceptional services on deck and in the interior. Megan’s positive demeanor and quick witted humor also contribute to her role onboard, making for a natural entertainer.
In her spare time, Megan enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her cat Pickles. She loves to travel, practice water sports, snorkel and create humorous content for her social media platforms.

Chef: James Temple
James is 36 years old born and raised in the Sussex countryside of the United Kingdom. He began working in restaurants at the young age of 13, when he developed his passion for cooking. Before joining yachting in 2018, James worked in various high-end restaurants in the UK, private residences in Spain/Portugal and London, along with luxury ski chalets in the Alps. He decided to combine his love for travel and adventure with his cooking and made the transition to the Super Yacht world as Sole/Head Chef, which has not only taken him to some of the most exclusive destinations in the world, but also given him the opportunity to integrate different cultures and flavor profiles into his dishes. James’ strong repertoire of many different types of cuisines and has received him excellent feedback from happy guests from all over the world, some of which include A-List celebrities, royalty and athletes.
