BOATSATSEA IS A MEMBER OF
After a Caribbean vacation, she thought that living on sea was an even better lifestyle and soon she was sailing her own Catamaran in the British Virgin Islands. Shortly thereafter, and for the following 20 years, Lela accepted charter bookings for her luxury 48ft catamaran.
Hosting guests, provisioning and preparing delightful meals, handling the sailing, arranging diving and managing her yacht, lead to a deep insight about the luxury charter yacht industry. She became a true yacht charter and Caribbean expert.
Being a self-made entrepreneur by nature, Lela created one of the first charter yacht websites, back in 1999. That quickly provided the first online bookings and filled the yachts calendar always to the very last available week, year after year with a proud 40% return guest rate.
Lela started in 2013 to search for the perfect IT specialist, in 2015 she associated with Pascal, and together they founded BoatsAtSea.com.
Lela’s extensive knowledge, in every aspect of the yacht charter industry, as owner, chef, host, diver, entertainer, coordinator, member of yachting associations, the obvious passion and dedication, is to provide clients with the best service in finding the perfect matching charter yacht.
Lela is fluent in German, English, Spanish, Italian OK, French OK.
In 1992, Sherry moved aboard her 43-foot C&C sloop and cruised with her husband from the Virgin Islands, through the Leeward and Windward Islands, to Trinidad, across the Coast of Venezuela, and back again.
During her 10-year “Seabattical”, Sherry started her career as a Charter Broker and has been providing memorable crewed yacht charters for over 25 years. Sherry inspects the vessels she recommends and interviews the crews. Matching you to the best possible yacht and crew is her specialty. In addition to being an avid sailor and snorkeler, Sherry is also a Certified Advanced Open Water SCUBA diver.
Sherry is a member of the Charter Yacht Broker’s Association International, the Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association, and the Charter Yachts Society of the BVI. She served on the CYBA Board of Directors for many years and is currently Co-chairman of the CBYA Ethics Committee.
She is a girl who wears many hats – she has a law degree, great experience in chartering her own luxury catamaran as crew/chef for many years, she is a certified PADI dive instructor and is even involved in boat building! She has been working as a Charter Broker for Boats At Sea since 2018.
To escape the cold and cruel winters of Hungary, Sara moved to Tenerife, Spain. She was managing a Greek restaurant for 4 years until she met her now-husband, Thomas. They decided to go on an adventure-filled mission and sail around the World - chartering their custom built luxurious sailing catamaran, Pearl and making friends in every corner of the Seven Seas.
She has more than 100,000 nautical miles under her belt sailing the Mediterranean, crossing the Atlantic Ocean multiple times, all Caribbean Islands, Central America and even the Pacific Ocean but her true love is the turquoise water of the Bahamas. She lived on board with her husband for 12 years and explored 90 countries (and counting) all over the World, now with an additional crew member, Daniel (born in 2019).
Knowing most of the yachts and crew personally, Sara has booked more than a hundred luxury yacht charters, finding the perfect match for each of her clients. Whether you dream of a laid back holiday or an adventurous trip to the Islands, she knows the places to go and the right people to take you there!
One fine evening, she met a handsome, seasoned sailor who convinced her to go cruising with him on his 32 foot sailboat, Maoti. She soon moved aboard (ditching the huge dvd player in the process) and they began working together on crewed yachts as captain and chef. Today, they’re married and co-manage a private luxury yacht charter along with raising their two boys and border collie on the beautiful island of St. Thomas.
To date, Lauren has sailed over 8,000 nautical miles in the beautiful Caribbean and beyond, and has explored 5 continents and counting. She has sailed to Venezuela and back, explored the Virgin Islands extensively, crossed the Gulf of Lion, sailed the Whitsunday Islands, and made the voyage from St. Thomas to Charleston, SC 3 times. After 16 years of life in the islands, she is delighted to share the perfect weather, excellent cuisine, vibrant culture, and turquoise waters of the Caribbean with her yacht charter clients.
Pam grew up in Florida, and has been boating and around the water all her life. She grew up fishing, waterskiing, snorkeling and surfing. The first time she stepped foot on a sailboat it was “love at first sail”! And she’s been hooked ever since. Together with her lifelong-sailing hubby, Graham, they set sail for the high seas! They spent 12+ years cruising the Atlantic seaboard, Bahamas and the Caribbean. They both earned their captain licenses and Pam became an ASA instructor – teaching others what she loves so much! She also spent several years as serving as a freelance captain. From growing up in the south, she also has a strong sense of hospitality and great food. This eventually led to an opportunity for them to serve as a captain/chef team on a 56’ catamaran in the Virgin Islands and Caribbean, which they did for over 5 years.
In time, aging parents and young grandchildren brought them back to Florida where Pam decided to help others experience this unique vacation by becoming a charter broker. Pam knows that a crewed charter yacht vacation is truly a special experience and she loves to help “first timers” experience that spectacular vacation! Her intimate knowledge of the cruising grounds, yachts and crews is a valuable asset for her clients!
Jim is from San Diego, California where he grew up power boating Lake Havasu, fishing the Pacific and Sea of Cortez and has been surfing since a young age.
He spent the first 25 years of his corporate life as an engineer building ocean going vessels. He finished his career as Director of Project Management in the oil and gas industry. He has his 100 ton USCG Masters License and is a PADI certified dive master.
Traveling the globe extensively and sailing the Caribbean has given him a knowledge and passion for meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. Jim is a charter broker that is dedicated to helping you create charter yacht vacation memories to last a lifetime.
