The Maj Oceanic sails in the nine million acres within the 21 designated Indonesian Marine Parks and UNESCO World Heritage Sites only during 365 days of Summer. There are three distinct regions where The Maj Oceanic sails following fair winds: West New Guinea in the Pacific Ocean, Lesser Sunda in the Indian Ocean, and Moluccas in between the two mother oceans. Admiral Suite is the largest master suite on a Phinisi cruise in the market. Being the only suite on the bridge deck, it offers full privacy, its own balcony, and a 270o view of the ocean. The ultimate ensuite has separate bathtub, rain shower, and Monsieur/Madame twin sinks.

Our VIP Suite which has a direct access from the main deck is enlightened from both port side and starboard. Its cozy sofa (that can eventually be turned into an extra bed for a kid) and the private desk are offering ideal spots for reading, writing or relaxing while watching the scenery going by.

Vincent Berthelot, our Cruise Manager and a certified Yacht Master Coastal, comes from the beautiful shores of Mauritius. A graduate in International Hotel Management from Vatel Mauritius, Vincent has honed his skills at renowned hospitality hubs like ClubMed and Veranda Leisure. His unique experience managing the remote Southern Islands of the St Brandon Archipelago, or Cargados Carajos Shalls, deepened his connection with the ocean. Chief Officer - Syamsuddin
Syamsuddin, or known as Syam, is our Chief Officer with a rich heritage in Phinisi shipbuilding from Tanah Beru, Indonesia. His maritime journey began as a carpenter, crafting these iconic wooden vessels, fostering a deep-seated passion for the sea. With 15 years of experience, Syam has grown into one of Indonesia´s most respected Chief Officers, known for his proficiency and warm humor. His expertise extends beyond navigation to a keen interest in astrology. Syam´s approachable nature and witty humor make him a beloved figure among the crew, blending professional rigor with lightheartedness to create an enjoyable and safe journey for all.
Head Chef - Gusti Ngurah Ariana
Chef Gusti, our Head Chef, brings the rich culinary heritage of North Bali to our guests. With almost three decades of experience, including a significant 7-year stint on Mediterranean Cruise Lines, he has mastered an array of cuisines, particularly Asian. His passion lies in blending local ingredients with traditional methods, inherited from his family´s cooking legacy. Chef Gusti´s dishes are a journey through Asia´s vibrant flavors, enhancing the onboard dining experience. A devoted father for 3 children and an avid badminton player, he also has a talent for music, previously playing guitar with the Paradise Band in Bali. Assistant Chef - I Wayan Wiyana

With eagle-eye precision in spotting marine life and a talent for singing and guitar, Pablo is a favorite both during dive sessions and on the sundeck, where he entertains
guests with his musical skills at BBQ nights. Welcoming and friendly, he´s always happy to take song requests or jam with guests. Since starting his diving career in 2010, Pablo has led countless divers through Indonesia´s spectacular underwater realms. Chief Engineer - Irwandi

2nd Engineer - Achmad Subianto
Anto, our esteemed Second Engineer, hails from Bojonegoro in East Java but was raised amidst the bustling streets of Jakarta. Despite his urban upbringing, Anto´s heart belongs to the ocean, a sentiment he attributes to his seafaring
stepfather. It´s in the vast expanse of the sea where he truly feels at home, embracing the philosophy that ´home is where the anchor drops. ´With an impressive career spanning 24 years, Anto has acquired extensive experience across a diverse range of maritime vessels. His journey includes time spent on dive charters, commercial and cargo ships, and luxurious yachts. This breadth of experience has not only honed his technical skills but also enriched his understanding of the myriad aspects of sea life. Anto´s dedication and expertise are integral to the smooth running of The Maj Oceanic, making him a valued and respected member of our engineering team.
3rd Engineer - Eko Setiasih
Eko, our Third Engineer, comes from Magetan, an agricultural town in East Java. In this landlocked region, Eko´s deep-seated love for the sea emerged, showcasing his inherent adventurous spirit. Despite his inland upbringing, he fostered a profound passion for maritime life, which has been a guiding force in his career. With a solid 12 years of experience in the boating industry, Eko began his seafaring journey in 2010. His career has seen him serve on a variety of motor vessels, where he has developed a rich skillset and deep understanding of maritime operations. Known for his kind and friendly demeanor, Eko brings more than just technical expertise to The Maj Oceanic; he creates an inviting and warm atmosphere on board, appreciated by both crew and guests.
Second Officer - Kaisar Saputra
Kaiser, also known as Esar to his friends, is a classically trained sailor who pursued his passion for the ocean by starting his career in 2010 after graduating with distinction from the Makassar Veteran Maritime Academy. With his extensive training and remarkable sense of responsibility, Kaiser is highly regarded for his expertise in maritime practices and commitment to safety. Beyond his professional pursuits, Esar embraces his personal interests with equal enthusiasm. He is an avid fan of salsa dancing and can often be found grooving to the beats. In addition, his love for Bollywood classics resonates in his singing, as he joyfully joins along with the tunes. With a dream of owning his own boat, Kaiser aspires to explore the world´s waters alongside his family, creating unforgettable sailing adventures. His unwavering dedication to his craft and zest for life make him an exceptional member of our team.
Deckhand - Yohanes Mandra
Hans, our Deck Hand and Tender Driver, is well on his way to realizing his dream of sailing the globe. Originating from Pora in Manggarai Barat, a place famed for its traditional Pinisi Boat craftsmanship, Hans´ affinity with the ocean is deeply rooted in his heritage. This connection has paved the way for his successful maritime career, which includes stints on tugboats and cargo vessels.
Hans´ commitment to safety and quality is unwavering, making him a valued and reliable member of our team. His ever-present smile is a reflection of his genuine love for life and the sea. Deckhand - Dewa
Dewa, a Deck Hand and Tender Driver from Bulukumba, Sulawesi, is a valued member of The Maj Oceanic crew, bringing with him seven years of industry experience. His life has always been intertwined with the sea, and his ambition is clearly set on rising to the rank of Deck Officer. Known for his positivity, friendliness, and enthusiasm, Dewa has a unique way of making everyone aboard feel like part of the Maj Oceanic family. His commitment to safety is paramount, ensuring all guests feel secure and cared for. Dewa´s meticulous attention to detail is particularly evident during beach parties, where he ensures not only enjoyment but also cleanliness and orderliness.
Deckhand - Kadek Rama Valentino
Tino is a dynamic member of our crew, originally from Buleleng, Bali. A proud graduate of the Stella’s Child program, Tino´s journey with us began with a 3-month internship in 2021, which quickly turned into a full-time role. Now, with a year of dedicated service under his belt, Tino has developed a broad range of skills, thanks to the valuable training provided by the owner. Tino´s initial stint in housekeeping and service revealed his true calling as a deckhand and tender driver. His Basic Safety Training (BST) certification and seaman´s book are testaments to his commitment and professional growth. Known for his infectious smile and willingness to assist at any moment, Tino is a hands-on team player who elevates the onboard experience for everyone. As he continues to build his career, Tino dreams of becoming a seafarer overseas and fulfilling his aspiration to sail around the globe.
