George Tsagarakos
Position: Captain
Nationality: Greek
Spoken languages: Fluent English and basic French
52 years old Captain George is a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy and holds a Captain
Class B’ Diploma. He began his career on board commercial vessels traveling around
the world and for the past 20 years he has served on board professional and private
yachts. He has all the necessary updated qualifications & certificates in Fire Fighting
and First Aid, GMDSS, Personal Safety and Ship Security. He is gentle, kind and eager to
please his guests, always ensuring their safety and comfort. He has long experience on
Motor Sailers and has been onboard M/S ALTHEA as Captain from the beginning of
2016. Captain George is married with one child. In his spare time he enjoys studying history
and jogging.



Olga Naki
Position: Chef
Nationality: Greek
57 years old

Olga decided to venture into the Yacht Industry as a chef in 2016. She worked on several private and charter yachts, as for example: M/Y AMORAKI (23m), M/Y NOURAH OF RIYAD (70m), M/Y ELEMENTS (83m), M/Y ELYSIUM (40m)…
Her culinary performance mainly focuses on the Mediterranean cuisine, although Olga can also cook to the guests’ preferences with particular diet such as vegans and vegetarians. One of her specialities is “Baked octopus and yellow split peas - fava with caramel onions”. She is also proud of her Pastry skills.
Olga is a positive person and strongly believe that smiling and kindness are the key elements. She puts a particular attention to the hygiene in her work environment and to the flavours of the meals.
She is available to his guests to meet their expectations, while remaining very discreet.
When Olga is on her time off, she likes travelling, swimming, cycling.


Samir Ioakim
Position: ENGINEER
Nationality: Russian
56 years old
Spoken languages: Greek, English, Arabic, Russian and French.

Samir is the man who keeps Althea going for the last 20 years. After studying Engineering in Russia he worked on Greek ocean going vessels and in different companies in Canada until 2000. Since then he has been caring for Althea as an engineer and assistant to the Captain. Samir’s calm personality often hides a delicate sense of humour which delights all those who discover him.
When he is not on board, Samir has many interests: fishing, travelling, reading, design, tennis and chess.

Adriana XENAKI
Position: Stewardess
24 years old
Spoken languages: English, French, Greek

Adriana started in the yachting industry as stewardess in the summer 2022 sailing on various catamarans operating daily cruises in Santorini Island. In 2023 she got her seaman’s book and attended different trainings: basic rescue, firefighting, first aid, marine safety issues, personal safety and social tasks. Adriana joined M/Y ALTHEA in May 2023 and discovered the chartering experience.

She is a cheerful, perfectionist and attentive person, ensuring that their guests have a pleasant and comfortable stay on board.

When Adriana is not working, she performs theatre, practices gymnastics and extreme sports.

Hector Petsi
Position: Deckhand
19 years old
Spoken languages: English, Greek

Fond of yachts, and willing to discover new places, Hector joined the yachting industry in July 2023 as assistant skipper on a 23m yacht.
Listening to guests requested with good communication skills, Hector has creativity to entertain the guests when it comes water toys, especially the young ones.

When he is not on board, Hector practices sports and Arts.


Fred Melani
Position: Deckhand
Nationality: Albanian
Spoken languages: Greek, Albanian and English.
Fred is 50 years old and it is thanks to the year round efforts of Fred that Althea’s deck
is always in pristine condition. Fred who is sportsman and a sailor does a lot more than
maintenance. He takes care of water sports and his welcoming personality puts his
guests at ease and helps them enjoy all the sport activities of their cruise. Fred who has
always worked on sailboats has been with Althea for the last 12 years.
He is married with 2 children and loves water sports and running.
