Nutmeg supplies reusable water bottles for guests to refill. The refill water station has a mineral supplemented inline filter. We do not purchase plastic bottles of water. We use locally made EC Soap products in refillable dispensers in guest bathrooms. This eliminates having lots of small containers of shampoo, etc. (and saves the guests on luggage). We do not use plastic plates or cups. We use cloth napkins. We have recently upgraded the electrical system on Nutmeg along with increasing the storage batteries. We now have the latest, state-of-the-art solar panel system with smart alternators. This allows us to have maximum charging with little generator use. We encourage our guests to open their hatches to avoid using the Air Conditioner. However, this is only a suggestion and use of the generator for air conditioning is not limited if guests request it.

Captain
First Mate/Chef
Max and Whitey (Maxine and John White) are entering their second season on Nutmeg but have over 20 years in the crewed yacht charter industry. Whitey is originally from Perth, Australia and Max from the mountainous state of Utah but they have made the Caribbean their home. After meeting in the San Francisco Bay Area and went sailing. They dropped their anchor in Cane Garden Bay, Tortola where they got married and then began their chartering career. They have hosted guests on large catamarans in the Virgin Islands, down the island chain and even a few years of ‘adventure chartering´ in the San Blas Islands of Panama and in Belize. The most recent years have been on a private power boat exploring the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba and Belize.
Whitey takes the helm of Nutmeg as he sails you around the islands. He knows all of the anchorages intimately and takes pride in customizing the itinerary to the guest preference. He holds a RYA Yacht Master Ocean license and has been a PADI Dive Instructor for 25 years. Whitey has a passion for teaching, whether it be snorkeling or scuba diving, or introducing people to anything regarding life on a boat. At night you can expect more entertainment with interesting stories of Whitey and Max´s travels while being served some original and classic beverages from the bar.
First Mate and Chef Max brings her years of extensive travel to inspire her meal preparation on Nutmeg. Max likes to use local and fresh ingredients and her primary culinary specialties are Latin and Caribbean as well as Asian and Mediterranean cuisines. In past international charter yacht boat shows, she has been a major award winner on two occasions. Max is also an avid diver as a PADI Dive Master for over 20 years. She especially likes to show her guests the underwater world and knows the best snorkel spots in the BVIs.
